Asia
In East Asia, beards are generally not considered "bad" but are culturally preferred to be kept minimal or clean-shaven. In professional settings, facial hair is often viewed as untidy or unkempt. However, this perception varies by age, context, and genetics:
- Professional Settings: In corporate and formal environments in countries like Japan, South Korea, and China, a clean-shaven face is strongly preferred. Beards are sometimes associated with a lack of grooming or modesty.
- Cultural Context: In traditional Chinese and Korean cultures, a well-groomed, long beard is traditionally associated with wisdom, nobility, and the elderly.
- Genetics: East Asian men typically have less facial hair and fewer hair follicles sensitive to testosterone, which historically made full beards uncommon and unviable for many.
- Changing Trends: Younger generations in major Asian cities are increasingly experimenting with stubble or neatly trimmed mustaches as fashion statements, though a clean, smooth face remains the societal baseline

Culture
- The same reason Japanese girls cover their mouth when they laugh. It’s a cultural thing. Japanese men like their women to be shy, innocent and inexperienced… (like a virgin) If the woman is moaning, smiling and enjoying it, it’s a sign that she’s slutty and if she’s slutty that means 2 things:
- She’s used up, been around the block and she’s not special.
- She’s easy, anyone can have her, and YOU aren’t special.
- Again, it’s cultural and all part of their mating dance. The man wants to feel special and powerful, as if he just conquered Mount Everest, and gets off on how his partner is enduring the pain of the rough sex JUST FOR HIM. (even though it doesn’t really hurt)
- Now, you might think it’s bizarre, wrong, or even chauvinistic that Japanese men expect their women to cry and look sad (even when it feels really REALLY GOOD)… BUT is it really that strange? In America, men expect women to smile, moan and scream “YES! YES!” at all times, even when it hurts.
